How long does flooring installation take?
A typical single-room install runs 1–3 days. Whole-home flooring (1,500–3,000 sqft) runs 1–2 weeks. Tile is slower than wood because of cure time on thinset and grout. Engineered hardwood is faster than solid hardwood because it can float over many substrates.
What flooring is best for Vancouver's humidity?
Engineered hardwood handles seasonal humidity swings better than solid hardwood because of its plywood core — particularly important on suspended floors and concrete slabs. Porcelain tile and luxury vinyl plank are essentially humidity-proof. For bedrooms and family rooms, engineered wood is our most common recommendation across Greater Vancouver.
Do I need to leave the house during install?
Usually no — flooring installs are localised and we seal off rooms as we work. The exception is full-home hardwood with on-site finishing (sanding, staining, sealing) which generates significant dust and fumes. We confirm during the consult.
Can I install hardwood over my existing floor?
Some floorings are compatible over existing flooring. For hardwood floors we typically don't recommend it — ask us about your options. We assess this during the site visit before quoting.
Do you supply the flooring material, or do I source it?
Both work. We have strong supplier relationships and pass our trade pricing through. If you have already sourced flooring, we install it. Either way, the warranty, schedule, and finished result are the same.
